No one would have know it was Ethan’s first tournament; he never stopped running and diving and went home with a souvenir graze on his knee.
Jess made the left wing her own, coming in-field to score 4 goals whilst on the right wing Jack was a hockey version of David Beckham crossing the ball in 6 times for the forwards to score. Outstanding.
After threatening to disown him if he didn’t score enough goals, Matthew is still in favour with his brother with a record 13 goals. Well done.
Milly and Eve shared attacking and goal keeping duties; some lovely little tap-ins and nothing got passed them at the back.
Alice made the game look easy; our secret weapon didn’t get used much but when called upon she was there to stop loads of attacks.
It was great that no one complained about their positions and no one minded we were without a substitute.
Most of us remembered the two aims for the day; “jumping back” in our formation with sticks down and passing the ball out to the wing. Another team coach said to me he was surprised to see an “8’s an Under team pass the ball so much”. Unbeaten, tremendous.
