A mix of boys from aged 9 to 11, plus one or two older brothers, played 2 international festival matches against an U11 boys team from Amsterdam Hockey Club over the Easter weekend.
Despite the weather, it was a wonderful weekend with all the players and parents getting involved to host our visitors.
Both games were played in great spirit with free flowing hockey on both sides - the individual skills on display were excellent. Havant's younger players, who had never played on a full size pitch, settled in quickly and made great debuts.
Everyone had the opportunity to make some new friends and play against a well organised and skilful side from a different country.
It was fabulous to see everyone back at the Club House afterwards - great fun on a wet and cold Easter weekend. For the record Havant lost 8-2 on Saturday and 6-3 on Sunday, but next year will be different!!!
