For the first time this year I was able to field our strongest team and what a performance!
Bournemouth were 4th in the league table and were comprehensively routed. The first goal came immediately from the start with Charlotte scoring and goals went in regularly from then on.
The defence of Jessica Kissane, Rosie Bell, Annie Materna, Katie Paxman, Jessica Bateman and new recruit Laura Mars were rock solid and allowed Georgia Davis, Charlotte Stephenson and Lucy Sullivan (our 3 county team members) to show all their skills and goal scoring prowess. Ably supported by Evie Hoolahan, Olivia Harrison, Phoebe Shepherd they consistently threatened the opposition goal and the score could easily have been higher.
The girls played as a team with good passing all over the pitch. Hope Campbell Collins, in goal, had little to do, but made one good save in the first period. She could do little about the Bournemouth goal, which was deflected past her by Jessica B, from a Bournemouth cross, near the end.So I suppose we scored 14 goals in all.
