continuing win teams aim
Our 1st XI's are away from home
this coming
weekend with our ladies playing at Wimbledon in a top of the table
clash pushing back at 12.00noon on Saturday 15th, whilst our men are in
the Midlands playing Bournville on Sunday 16th with a 12.30pm push
back at the University. Our ladies with maximum points from their first three league games go to Wimbledon lying second in the league on goal difference to Hampstead and Westminster. Wimbledon lie in third position with two wins and one loss. Wimbledon last weekend defeated Southgate 7-0, so are bound to be full of confidence and looking for a home win, which will take them to the top of the Table if Hampstead & Westminster lose. Havant had a very good 4-1 local derby win against Southampton and will be looking to consolidate before the return of their influential midfield dynamo and captain Ali Wakefield in the coming weeks. |
Our
men
will
be
hoping to build on their win last weekend against
Lichfield with 3 points against a Bournville side who have yet to win a
point in their first four league games. They have conceded 15 goals and only scored four times, two of these goals coming last weekend against Team Bath Buccaneers. Despite this poor start they should not be under estimated as reports indicate that they are improving and last weekend is testament to that statement. Certainly if Havant can re-produce the second hand attacking form shown last weekend against Lichfield they should come out on top. It is also encouraging that we have not conceded a goal in three of our four league games to date. A word of caution however last season we conceded points to lowly teams and we must maintain discipline and concentration for 70 minutes and play at our tempo and not at a lower level. Chris Pickett |
