23/11/14 : Boys Under 14 B vs Petersfield

Away -

Won 11 - 1

Just too strong! Havanr U14B 11 - Petersfield 1

Despite the final score line, Petersfield were no mugs and at times showed good ability, particularly in attack. Our defense, however, was solid and this gave us a firm foundation for our own attacks.

George was too much for their defense, scoring twice and once again Jo Baines was able to pounce on the ball, working from the left, scoring four and going close on other occasions.

7-0 by half time, but our hockey was beginning to suffer and the second half had us moving the ball better, playing across the field as well as through the middle. Callum moved the ball with speed and power as did Rydian. With regular subsitutions, everyone showed good ability and ambition. Others gained confidence in different positions throughout the game. Ollie unselfishly made many assists and helped our attacks flow. Morgan hit a strong, well measured ball from attack and defence.

Short corners were well worked and their keeper kept out many a shot. At the other end Jack was impeccable and brave. He saved a late penalty and kept almost everything out that came his way.

At times we were slick and speedy and quite frankly too hot to handle. The improvements on the first game were sizeable and we now need more games to continue this.

Tom S joined the attack late on and was almost rewarded with a late hat trick. Callum scored a well deserved goal and Jo baines added another to take his tally to 5!

Wet through but happy. It was just a shame about the injuried to both Ethan and Alex.

Well done.
