10/10/20 : Mens 5 vs Haslemere 4

Home - Burnaby Road P1

Won 4 - 1

5s back to winning ways after blip last week

Saturday saw a return to Burnaby Road where the 5s entertained high flying Haslemere. Havant stood up to the test with a solid defensive display, their resilience at the back turned provider when they were rewarded for their fine ball retention. With two flowing breaks Lloydie and Nav scored for the hosts and went into the break with a deserving 2-0 lead. Nav latching onto a defence splitting pass before cooly slotting past the advancing keeper and Lloydie’s poking home with a trademark finish.

The second half began with a similar tempo and was being controlled by Havant. Early short corner saves from the Haslemere Defence kept it to two before Havant broke down the visitors again with a sweeping attack ending in some slick passing from Havant front three before giving Lloyd his second opportunity to score. Rounding the keeper before slotting home.

Haslemere pulled one back early in the second half and worked hard to break down a fairly solid Havant defensive unit. Paul made sure of the points late on and made it 4-1 with another from close range. A deserving win for the hosts with all 14 playing their part in the win including Ash who orchestrated some fine tactical changes.

A tough opposition and a few Injuries didn’t dampen this weeks come back and 3 points after a disappointing defeat against Alton.

Onto the next one. Final score 4-1
