The first half was a little below the ladies capabilities and saw the away team put 2 goals into the net after some break-away play from the opposition. After half time the ladies came out fighting to get back into the match. There were strong counter attacks from both teams, but where PHC Chiswick couldn't convert they began to get frustrated and Havant created a number of opportunities in the circle with excellent passes and play in the circle from Rae Allen, Sophie Forrest, Sue Robinson and Kim Tyrrell. The ladies were finally rewarded for their efforts by a goal which came from a well composed one-on-one with the keeper and Georgia Golding. With equalising in our sights the 1s continued to create lots of positive opportunities, one from an excellent cross from Sophie Forrest to Cat Evans who took a dive to only narrowly missed the goal.
The final minute saw an untimely defensive short corner, which certainly kept the audience on their toes... Thankfully the umpires saw a foul which meant the goal was disallowed. Although the final score was a loss at 2-1, there was some positive play in the second half and great opportunities created around the goal which the team built upon in the Hampshire Cup match the following day.
