Match report:

The mighty twos Vs Alton. On a perfect morning for hockey, the twos were looking for their first points of the season. The first half started brightly with end to end hockey. Steady and Tirion had a couple of close chances from the top of the D, backed up by Rhea,  Molly, Nicky and Strawbs who all supported the forwards and defence fabulously throughout the game. Alton were awarded a couple of penalty corners, the strikes from which were dealt with nonchalantly by Emily, as always. An even first half ended 0-0. The second half saw some battling performances from Dee, Phoebe and Sharon who  nullified the few chances we allowed Alton to have. With 20 minutes to go, Sue took a shot from the top of the D. Battling in the ugly zone were Sophie, Leah and Megan, joined by Sue. After a couple of rebounds, Megan, on her debut, took the score to 1-0. See, Duffy, we do listen at training! Alton were awarded a penalty corner towards the end of the match. A straight strike from the top of the D was calmly and expertly cleared off the line by #evenSooz who saved all 3 points for Havant. (Sooz wrote this, so ignore the platitudes)  As a team we stuck together moving as a unit. With plenty of positives and things to work on, this was a true team display. Post match cakes from Leah and Sue were truly scrumptious. Many thanks to them! Onwards to next Saturday and a home match against Basingstoke.
