A New Home for our Hockey Family
Building a Modern Clubhouse. Strengthening our Community. Securing our future.
Why We Are Acting NOW
Over the past few years, Havant Hockey Club has worked hard to create a realistic, achievable plan to upgrade our facilities – one that delivers on our long-term vision, but in more manageable stages. This plan highlights the challenges we have faced and shows the areas that require our immediate attention;
⚠️ No long-term lease in place with HSDC, and in danger of losing access to our pitch
💡 Halogen Floodlights not suitable for competitive evening matches
🚿 A broken pitch-watering system
🚪 Outdated (and frankly embarrassing) changing rooms
🍻 Clubhouse too far from the pitch – losing social connection of 30-50% of players and supporters after games, and juniors who have never been to our clubhouse
🏑 Only a single pitch, in need of replacement in the near future
Our Vision
Our vision has not changed, To be a Club where people of ALL ages, backgrounds and abilities, come to play hockey and enjoy friendship, and fellowship, on and off the pitch.
We all want Havant Hockey Club to be THE destination club for our sport on the South Coast of the UK. In practice this means we are aiming to;
- Deliver a Measurable, Significant and Positive impact to the local Community
- Provide excellence in Coaching and Playing facilities across the club, to all age groups
- Retain a distinctive and inclusive Club Social Identity, having fun both on and off the pitch
- Maintain our “Centre of Excellence” position within England Hockey for Junior, Senior and Talent Academy facilities
- Have our Women and Men’s 1st XI’s playing National League Hockey
- Build on the standards and procedures exemplified in our Clubmark and Talent Academy accreditation
In order to deliver on these ambitious goals, we have plans in place across Coaching, Development, Membership, Technology, Social Media, Operations and other areas – we now need to address our Facilities.
Our Facilities Plan

Charity Status
At the EGM, Members approved a change in our legal construct to become a Charity. Our members agreed that moving to Charity status more closely aligned to the impact we are making in the Community, not only to hockey players, but much wider across schools and colleges, critically helping those who find themselves in more challenging social-economic situations, to have access to better health and mental wellbeing. Being a Charity also helps us unlock new funding and grants, and better protects the future of the club for generations to come.
YOU voted YES – So how Can you now Help
🛠 Skilled Volunteers
If you work in construction, electrical, plumbing, decorating or related trades – your help can save us thousands, and allow us to build our vision before the start of next season.
💷 Fundraising & Support
At the EGM we outlined the main funding sources available to support this exciting project. Firstly the club has been financially prudent over the years, creating a Pitch Fund that will cover around 40% of the investment required – a great start!. A loan from England Hockey Pitch Together Fund (Pitch Together Fund: Facilities Loan Scheme | England Hockey) will cover around 20% of the investment needed, with the final 40% we need to be covered by A Member Loan scheme and Other Club Fundraising activities / Charitable Donations.
The Member Loan Scheme gives members the opportunity to support the build by lending money to the club for an agreed period, with clear terms and repayment details provided in advance. At this stage, we are simply asking for Expressions of interest for people wanting to lend the club upwards of £5,000. This is not a commitment — just a way for us to understand how much support there may be from within our membership.
If you would be willing to register your interest, please complete the the online form: HHC Member Loan Scheme – Expression of Interest and return it to treasurer@havanthockeyclub.org.uk. Full details of the scheme, including timescales and terms, would be shared before any decisions are needed.
How else can you support the club
- We need our members, supporters and families to make use of the Bar and attend social gatherings
- Buy club merchandise
- Help run fundraising events
- Help find new sources of funding, such as sponsors and charitable donations
IF you feel you could help in any way, from building work to leading fundraising efforts we want to hear from you. This is your club and our future is in your hands, it will take a big family to make this happen.
Please Email: facilities@havanthockeyclub.org.uk if you are able to offer your support.
