For some time now I have been looking to stand down as Treasurer of the Club, after 35 years in the job.
It is time that someone younger, with fresh ideas and more in tune with the present needs of the members took over.
The position involves overall responsibility for the club finances including payments and receipts, bookkeeping (including using the Xero online software package), the preparation of the accounts for the AGM, budgets, the bank accounts, and VAT.
The work is not complicated but can at times be quite time consuming and may benefit from being split between two people to make life easier. We already have separate very capable treasurers for the Junior Section and the All-Weather Pitch.
Knowledge of Xero, or similar, software would be useful, but it is not difficult to learn – I taught myself and we do have people within the club who know how to use it.
I am not going away and will still be around to offer any help and advice needed.
